Early Christmas present for Byo Macheso fans

Macheso’s new album is expected to be released sometime next week.

In an interview, Macheso’s manager, William Tsandukwa told Saturday Leisure that Macheso would be performing in Bulawayo on 15 December.

“We have decided to bring an early Christmas present to our Bulawayo fans as we will be bringing the new album,” he said.

Tsandukwa said the show would be held at the Amphitheatre as they are expecting a lot of people to attend the gig.

“Macheso has a lot of fans in Bulawayo so we decided to look for an even bigger venue that can accommodate almost everyone.

“We have already signed the agreement with the responsible authorities and it is confirmed that our show will be held at the Amphitheatre,” he said.

The band manager said fans should come in their large numbers as Macheso had a lot of surprises for them.

“Macheso last released an album sometime in 2010 and a lot of our fans have been complaining about that.

“We are urging them to come and be part of us as we celebrate the new baby  that we have been blessed with in the form of an album from the Extra Basso,” he said.

Tsandukwa said the new album has got six tracks and at the moment Macheso was still working on naming the songs.

“It is very difficult for me to talk about the album in greater detail, but I can only advise you that the album has got six tracks,” he said.

“At the moment I cannot give you the name of the album but I saw other publications saying it is called Kwatakabva Mitunhu,” he said.

Tsandukwa said he was still waiting for an official communication from his boss about the new developments on the latest album.

Kwatakabva Mitunhu will be Macheso’s ninth album.

Some of the albums that he has released include Zvido Zvenyu Kunyanya, Magariro, Zvakanaka Zvakadaro, Simbaradzo and Tafadzwa.
