FC WANGU Mazodze chairman, Blessing Kwesha, has confirmed the launch of a payback campaign to assist the club’s fans who are struggling to make ends meet.
The club plays in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One League.
Kwesha told H-Metro the gesture was inspired by the overwhelming support they get from the fans.
The payback will exclusively benefit those with membership cards.
“We have allocated a budget to help our fans who have shown dedication in supporting our team.
“All vendors and self-employed people, who missed work due to the club’s commitments, will have their rentals and monthly groceries paid for,” Kwesha said.
“Every single mother, who conceived during this period, will receive all the baby’s needs, including medication and food.
“All single women, who can demonstrate full-time support and don’t want to miss our away games, will have their children sent to boarding schools so that they will have enough time to rally behind the team.”
The Masvingo-based side have endured mixed fortunes in their bid to fight for promotion.
They are in sixth place on the ZIFA Eastern Region log standings.
Kwesha said their target was to win promotion next season.
Green Fuel are leading the pack with 59 points in the championship race.
The league is set to resume this weekend after a two-month break.
