Zarah Lounge recently introduced Mugodu Mondays, which has become a hit to many as on the night traditional meat— mangqina, amalusu, nkukhu makhaya and goat meat, will be served with pap and samp.
Next to Zarah Lounge, there is Crystal, a place known to many as the “AmaPiano hub”, a name coined after the place as it was one of the first in the city to play and celebrate the genre.
The exclusive Crystal Club plays mature music that allows clients to wind down the work stress and focus on quenching their thirst with cold drinks and a glass of whiskey.
On Wednesdays, Jazz music lovers can have the best time of their lives by listening to soul soothing music. One can also catch popular Smart Birds band performing live at the joint, with a set that is fused with karaoke to allow clients to participate and have fun with the band.
Another exciting sister club to East 68 is the popular Cubana Cigar Lounge and its back door sibling Havana. On each and every Wednesday, the joints are preserved for ladies. The clubs understand the social and work pressures that women go through every day and thus, they have dedicated Wednesdays to women to kick back and unwind over cocktails.
For the past seven years, Cubana has been running its Cocktail Wednesday events, which have somehow become the culture of the city. A bevy of beauties dedicate Wednesday as a special day where they meet and catch up over the cocktails, which will be slashed to half price on the night, something that even attracts men.
Sky, who is the Marketing consultant for the joints said “The concept of this night (Cocktail Wednesdays) has built up over so many years into what I’ll arguably call the best place to be during the week. Ladies appreciate our cocktail specials as they are used to it because the concept has been running for five years and with time, it just got better and better.”
The most vital relative to East 68 is the “Big Brother” Cosmopolitan VIP Club located at Ascot Racecourse. Cosmopolitan is a seasonal joint that has its own spells of fun and enjoyment mostly through celebrity shows. Some of the South African acts who have graced Cosmopolitan are DJ Fresh,
Prince Kaybee, Kabza De Small, DJ Maporisa, Tyler ICU, Lady Zamar and latently Dlala Thukzin, amongst others.
When listing clubs associated with East 68, one must not forget the exciting cousin Highlanders Sports Club. This is a joint that has put Highlanders FC as one of standard clubs with great engagement and leisure facilities.
This is also a joint that accommodates Bosso fans to enjoy their drinks, especially after the team’s matches usually on Sundays, but it is open every day.
