THE Zifa Eastern Division One Soccer League now seems to be a two-horse race as the two teams, Mutare City and Buffaloes Juniors  are running neck-to-neck.
The two teams are separated by a point as they fight for promotion into the Premiership.
Mutare City posted an emphatic victory when they dismissed Surrey United 3-0 in Mutare over the weekend while Buffaloes Juniors only managed a nil all draw away to Black Eagles but remained in contention for the championship.

The scenario has dampened the spirits of the “trouble makers” Masvingo United who are also itching for a return to Premiership football after three years in Division One.

Masvingo United have been involved in three matches that have been abandoned.
Mutare is leading the pack with 57 points followed by neighbours Buffaloes Juniors with 56 points while Masvingo United are third with 49 points, eight points adrift of the log leaders from 25 games each.

Results
Masvingo United 3-0 Mutare Poly, Mwenezana 0-0 Surrey, Ruwa United 3-2 Gaza Gunners, Gutu 1-0
Chivhu, Eastern Stars 2-2 ZRP Masvingo, Black Eagles 0-0 Buffaloes Junior.
