TELECOMMUNICATIONS firm, Econet Wireless and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) have entered into a partnership that will see Zimbabwe students studying ACCA accessing free-online introductory courses.

Econet said the agreement had been entered into through its digital education platform called EcoSchool.

Econet said through EcoSchool, scholars and educators are provided with on-the-go affordable and reliable access to world-class educational content.

“EcoSchool has formed a partnership with ACCA that will enable Zimbabwe students studying towards ACCA to access online introductory ACCA-X courses for free. “The partnership, the first of its kind with an institution offering professionally accredited tuition, will potentially benefit all Zimbabwe students enrolling for ACCA,” it said.

The telecommunications company’s chief executive officer Douglas Mboweni was also quoted as saying: “This is a momentous partnership for Econet education. We’re proud and humbled to have partnered with this highly esteemed global professional accounting body, ACCA.

“The idea behind EcoSchool goes beyond simply making books available at a cheaper price, but is part of our larger strategy to help learners and educators to gain access to materials and courses from across the globe.”
