Econet launches Ecosure product

Business Correspondent LEADING mobile network service provider, Econet Wireless last Friday launched a new product – Ecosure Funeral – that provides funeral cover to associations, extended family, family and individuals at a colourful ceremony held at a local hotel. The product that is only eligible to Ecocash subscribers comes in five packages which are Ecosure Lite, Ecosure Basic, Ecosure Standard, Ecosure Premium and Ecosure Family. In his presentation, Econet Services Mutare Account Executive, Mr Munyaradzi Nyakwawa, said the Ecosure Lite allows one to pay a monthly premium of 50 cents and has an assured sum of $500, while on the Ecosure Basic, one parts with $1 a month and have $1 000 as sum assured. The Ecosure Standard has a $2 monthly premium and a sum assured of $2 000. The Ecosure premium has a monthly premium of $5 and a sum assured of $5 000. “Ecosure Family pack allows customers to register their dependants. A dependant can be a spouse or minor below the age of 18. The whole family shall be on the same package as the principal member. The premium is paid per head and is the same irrespective of the dependants’ age,” he said. He said one can get more cover from club or society in conjunction with Ecosure. “You register on Ecosure and select your society or club as beneficiary. In the event of death, you get funeral cover from Ecosure through your society or club. Among other benefits, the current club or society funds becomes a saving with no liability. It also has accountability and peace of mind. It provides security of members’ funds. The Burial Society or Club can choose preferred Funeral Service Provider while the savings would earn interest. The society or club can choose to cover members who are above 70 years,” he said. For a society or club to register they should register with Econet Life as a partner (Society or Club), submit a valid constitution and get a unique Club or Society code. For the Ecosure family, one can dial *900# and enter EcoCash PIN, Select option ‘Manage Dependent and then Add Dependent’, Select ‘Relationship’ then ‘Year of Birth, Month and Date’, Input ‘ID Number’ & Confirm “You can edit your dependents on EcoSure. On this, one can cover for the whole family on one policy. It is Convenient, easy & reliable. It has no additional charges, normal EcoSure Premiums Apply. It has flexibility of adding dependents,” Mr Nyakwawawa added. Mr Nyakwawa said since launching the product, they have received overwhelming response from customers. “We have been receiving numerous calls and our target is to make sure that everyone who owns an Econet line subscribes to Ecosure and enjoy the benefits. We are working with all organisations including Non-Governmental Organisations,” he said.
