Econet, ZRU in partnership

THE Zimbabwe Rugby Union have entered into a partnership with mobile service provider Econet Wireless, which has seen them receiving mobile phones for the national teams. The ZRU have another landmark partnership with Old Mutual. Yesterday’s deal with ZRU was sealed at the union offices and ZRU chief executive Colleen de Jong said the partnership was a big boost for her organisation.“We are delighted with this partnership and this is important as it will help our team,” she said.

“The partnership with Econet saw them provide mobile phones to the (Old Mutual Development Programme) technical teams, and we would like to expand on the relationship with Econet.

“The development side is important for us and we are looking forward to seeing more partners coming on board and helping us.”

Econet were represented by customer experience manager Michael Munawa, who said they will try their best to help ZRU.

“We are excited with the initiative as it is part of our corporate social responsibility programme. We are honoured to partner the Zimbabwe Rugby Union, who have been trying hard, so we will help in any way we can.

“We will deal with any challenges so as to inspire our juniors,” said Munawa.
