Eddie Nyatanga challenges Zifa

Zifa are today set to publicise the names of those who are facing 10 years bans with more sanctions expected to be disclosed in the coming days.
The way Zifa has treated this sensi­tive issue has led to a leakage of the report and now people read about their fate in the newspapers, which is not professional.
“As much as we respect Zifa for the job they have done to conclude the Asi­agate investigations, we also feel that it is now taking long to put the matter to rest,” said Nyatanga.
“They should just announce the names of the affected players and offi­cials at once so that those who want to appeal may do so and we move for­ward.
“These people have been trauma­tised already and it doesn’t help mat­ters to release the names in small batches and keep them waiting.”
Nyatanga also said the supporters no longer have confidence in the cur­rent national football team and called on the authorities to disband the whole group after the Warriors’ disap­pointing per­formance in the recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
Zimbabwe gave away a seemingly healthy 3-1 lead which they had taken at Rufaro when they lost 2-0 in Luanda to bow out of the tournament at the last hurdle on away goals rule.
“We are still waiting for a report from Zifa to explain to the supporters what really went wrong in Angola.
Those guys did the country a disserv­ice because everything was done for them to win that game.
“For example, we can build a team for the 2018 World Cup from the current Under-17 side. We also want football supporters to be united when it comes to national team business. People should remember that there is no CAPS United, Highlanders or Dynamos fans when it is to do with the Warriors.
