Editorial Comment: Killer T messed it up with his foolishness

HAS Killer T lost his senses or is “high” on something else nowadays?

This has been the raging debate on social media after the Chairman took the law unto himself yesterday.

The chanter riled fellow Aspindale Park residents, after he blocked both the exit and entry points at the complex, with his two cars.

His fellow residents were shocked by his shameful act.

His wayward conduct has left the chanter with a battered image and bruised ego.

Killer T literary “killed” his brand in that moment of madness.

The Takazvarwa Takangodaro singer broke the gated community’s rules which demand that every resident should use the security tags to enter or leave the complex.

It’s meant to protect the residents and everyone who stays there should play his or her part.

It doesn’t cost a fortune to get the tag, just US$40, and this is something that Killer T didn’t acquire.

Maybe, because he is a celebrity, he expected special access.

But this is wrong because this complex is not about his celebrity status.

It’s about people who chose to live in a place where they feel secure and everyone, who stays there, should play their part.

For Killer T to decide to block both entries, with his black E350 Mercedes Benz and a grey Nissan Vannet is just ridiculous and quite shameful.

This delayed the flow of traffic inside the complex as some of the residents’ early morning errands were disrupted.

There were some students, who were rushing for their examinations, who found themselves being trapped, inside the complex, because of the madness of this artist.

The chanter’s free early morning drama has not only tarnished his image but the Zimdancehall sector.

Killer T is not special and he simply has to comply with the regulations, which govern all the residents, or leave the complex.

It’s as simple as that.

Killer T’s case is a bad example of how some of the celebrities, and high profile figures, behave in our society.

They tend to forget the names they carry and the influence they have in society.

With many people looking up to celebrities as role models, surely kids will learn nothing from the people of Killer T’s calibre.

This level of madness is totally unacceptable in this era, where celebrities and influencers should change other people’s lives.

Killer T and his camp have messed up and should issue an apology.

These are some of the issues which have seen celebrities losing endorsement deals simply by failing to observe simple rules.

As the media, we believe it is our role to celebrate the success of our artists like Killer T, as and when they get it right.

We also believe that it is our role to remind them, now and again, on the occasions when they get it wrong.

When they let fame get into their heads.

Clearly, Killer T lost it yesterday and there is a price for him to pay for that.
