MARRIAGE wreckers are ruining people’s affairs and inflicting a lot of misery on a lot of people.
They don’t respect the sanctity of the marriage institution at all.
Some claim they are simply engaging in this shameless act out of poverty.
They claim poverty pushes them to find partners who can pamper them with gifts, especially money.
Others claim they are not sexually satisfied by the partners they settled with.
There are, however, some who claim they engage in this behaviour after finding partners who are good in bed.
They claim their real partners don’t have time for them and they don’t give them attention.
This is a topic on its own, which needs experts to tackle.
However, the obsession, confidence and guts that some marriage wreckers have is quite shocking.
This has fuelled crimes of passion as well as created irreparable rifts.
Socialites, and other well-to-do people, have not been spared from this web.
The majority are actually victims of betrayal.
Last week, we ran a sad and yet touching story involving comedienne Tarisai “Madam Boss” Chikocho, who clashed with her husband’s pregnant lover, Evangelista Zhou.
All hell broke loose after she learnt that Evangelista had moved into their other home in the Seke communal lands.
In a fit of rage, Madam Boss is alleged to have assaulted Evangelista, took away her mobile phone and deleted all photographs of her husband Ngoni Munetsiwa and the lover.
Madam Boss told H-Metro that she felt betrayed by Ngoni in her marriage of eight years and she was not prepared to accommodate Evangelista.
The lover is believed to have vowed not to leave Ngoni.
Madam Boss now wants Ngoni to clear his name.
The lover has since applied for a peace order at Chitungwiza Magistrates Court.
Clearly, we really don’t know a lot about this drama.
It appears the real story is yet to be told and we will try to find it for the sake of our readers.
But, what is not in question is that some pain has been inflicted on Madam Boss and her reputation has taken a knock.
If it’s true that she doesn’t know why her husband decided to go and impregnate another woman, then it’s understandable to feel sorry for her.
If that is the case, then her story is a clear case of betrayal by the husband who had the guts to desecrate his matrimonial home by accommodating his pregnant girlfriend.
This level of disrespect and betrayal is totally unacceptable.
At least, Ngoni should have respected his wife while Evangelista is expected to show remorse.
What we don’t agree with is Madam Boss taking matters into her hands and assaulting Eva.
We can understand her anger but she cannot take the law into her hands and mete out instant justice against Eva.
She should find ways of dealing with this issue with her husband because he is the one who decided to go out and impregnate Eva.
We don’t sing in the corner of those who destroy marriages but neither do we condone those who take the law into their hands.
