EDITORIAL : Tryson needs help to deal with his demons

MENTAL health is something which has become quite a huge challenge for us as a nation.

Many people are suffering from this problem unaware that they need help.

It takes acceptance for one to get assistance.

Family members and friends are recommended to help such victims, who are battling, and dying, in silence.

Some of the victims are now tormenting their families as a result of this problem haunting their souls.

Others have gone to extremes as they are now causing violence against their family members.

Such cases are now common in many ghettos where young people are taking all kinds of dangerous drugs and illicit substances.

In yesterday’s issue, we carried a sad story involving Tryson Chimbetu, who blamed his family for casting a bad spell on him.

Tryson is a mental health patient who has been receiving treatment in rehabilitation.

The talented Dendera musician has been accused of taking drugs, which caused his mental breakdown.

He is not in talking terms with his mother and baby mama.

Once touted as the heir apparent to the Dendera throne, the singer appears to have lost his mind.

He is in serious need of help to fix his mental problems.

There are genuine fears that he might do worse things if he doesn’t get help.

He has also been accusing his cousin Suluman of fighting him spiritually.

However, Suluman has been doing his best to assist the troubled cousin. At one point he stayed with Tryson, which shows Suluman is a kind-hearted man.

The only payment he got from Tryson was being accused of fighting him.

This shows that we are dealing with a special case which needs special attention.

Many people in Tryson’s predicament have been accusing their families of bewitching them.

This shows the extent to which mental health problems can drive people.

In this age, we don’t expect people to take mental health patients’ accusations seriously.

In fact, mental health patients need rehabilitation to act normally.

We need to embrace and accept them in the best way which can make them reform.

As they fight their demons, we need to understand their challenges by giving them the best treatment we can provide.

Their challenges call for our cooperation.

Such cases can be easily won if mental health patients get help in time.

In Tryson’s case, well-wishers should come on board and help our celebrity.

We all know how talented he is.

He is also an employer, with a star-studded band, which looks up to him for survival.

Every band member has a family to fend for which shows that the young man is a bit special.

It’s sad when the band leader is now fighting mental health demons caused by drug abuse.

They need help as much as their band leader also need help.

It’s the only way that Tryson can be helped to return to the entertainer whom we all love.
