Complacency in the education sector has no place in the country’s development as anchored by the objectives of the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation (Zim-Asset), Primary and Secondary Education Minister Lazarus Dokora has said. Minister Dokora said this last Thursday at the handover-takeover ceremony of Eaglesvale Junior and Senior schools from the Dutch Reformed Church of Central Africa to the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe.

The event was attended by Finance and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa, his Local Government, Public and National Housing counterpart Dr Ignatius Chombo, and Industry and Commerce MinisterMike Bimha.

“The Constitution of Zimbabwe recognises education as a basic right for all. The Government appreciates the role that various responsible authorities have played and continue to play in complementing the State’s efforts in providing access to education for all,” said Minister Dokora.
