GRADE seven pupils will be required to pay US$1 per term for the administration of exams, a Cabinet Minister has said.

Speaking in the House of Assembly during the question and answer segment, Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Professor Paul Mavhima said all Grade seven pupils will be required to pay $1 a term while those in Grade five will pay $1 until they get to Grade seven.

“This money will go towards the administration of these exams, remember as Government we have been subsiding to the tune of 50 percent,” he said.

However, Deputy Mavhima could not be drawn into revealing how much will be raised from the contributions.
