‘EgyptAir relaunch bodes well for investment’

of economic hardships.

EgyptAir re-introduced flights on the Cairo-Harare route after a nine- year absence and this is expected to increase the country’s connectivity with North Africa and the rest of the world.

In an interview with Herald business soon after landing at the Harare International Airport, Mr
Bob Armington said his company, Sechrist Industries, was looking to expand its presence in Africa and Zimbabwe had been singled out for investment.

“My company is looking at expanding into Africa and we have a special affection for Zimbabwe, so I am here to prepare for some work with local hospitals.

“I will be teaching and sharing some information with medical care practitioners on the lifesaving applications of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for infants that are offered by my company,” he said.
Sechrist Industries engages in the research, development, manufacture, and distribution of hyperbaric and respiratory therapy equipment to physicians across the world.

Mr Armington said he would be in the country for five days after which his company would initiate investments into the health sector which has been going downhill for the past several years.

“This is my first visit to Africa and I am pleased with what I have seen so far and I look forward to learning as much about Zimbabwe as I am going to be teaching about our products and services,” he said.

The interest by Sechrist to invest in Zimbabwe’s health sector comes barely a month after healthcare giant Royal Philips expressed its commitment to help improve health care infrastructure in the country.

Royal Philips is focusing on mother and child care, in support of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5, which are aimed at reducing child mortality rates and improving maternal health.
