Egyptian president meets Abbas over Palestine

Egyptian presidential source told Xinhua.
“The talks discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian reconciliation, ways to unify the Palestinian sides and ways to lift the siege and alleviate misery imposed on the people in the Gaza Strip,” said the source.

The meeting was attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr, presidential assistant for foreign relations Essam al-Hddad, as well as senior Fatah members Saeb Erikat and Azzam al- Ahmed.

Politburo Chief of Islamic Hamas movement Khaled Meshaal arrived in Cairo on Tuesday for several days of visit, and is expected to hold talks with Egyptian top officials over the Palestinian internal reconciliation issue.

Although official reports said that Morsi, Abbas and Meshaal are expected to hold a meeting together Wednesday, the Egyptian presidency did not confirm to Xinhua. — Xinhua.
