EIGHT suspects have been arrested for the brutal murder of 26.-year-old Mncedisi Stan Moyo after he allegedly raped and robbed a 39-year-old woman in Triangle.
Moyo allegedly raped and robbed the victim of US$23 and ZAR40.
Police national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident, revealing that it took place at Village 4D Mahanyale in Triangle on 27 August this year.
After committing the alleged rape and robbery, Moyo had fled the scene before he was apprehended by the suspects.
Moyo’s body was found at Zvemombe business center in Triangle after the suspects assaulted him and left him there where he subsequently died.
“Investigations as to the rape and robbery of the 39-year-old lady and the assault that led to the death of Mncedisi Moyo by the eight victims are still underway,” said Comm Nyathi.
Meanwhile, police in Masvingo are appealing for information that may assist in the arrest of a male suspect only identified as Augustine, who is being sought in connection with a murder case of Edmore Mugwazhi (38) who died on 24 August this year.
The victim who was a security guard at a bottle store at Choga Business center in Zaka engaged in a scuffle with the suspect following an argument over the bottle store’s operating hours.
Resultantly the suspect kicked the victim with booted feet all over the body and fled the scene.
The victim sustained multiple injuries and was ferried to Masvingo General Hospital where he succumbed to injuries on 26 August this year while receiving treatment.
