SOUTH Africa-based artist and music producer, Lazurus “Elcee Gweja” Chipangura, scooped a gong at the recently-held Artes Music Awards.
The 29-year-old scooped the Best Afro Pop 2022 award.
This was the second gong for the artist in his music career so far since he begged his debut in 2016 at the Zimbi Nice Music Awards.
Speaking to H Metro, Elcee Gweja said:
“When I got nominated, I was so excited, that alone was an honour.
“When I won the award, I was very happy knowing that I have worked for over 10 years.
“I felt like I deserved it.”
Elcee added his fans should expect more music in the remaining months of the year.
“They should expect about two more massive collaborations, local and international too.
“I have already dropped my song, ‘Paprika,’ featuring Poptain, and it’s already making waves in East Africa, Kenya and Tanzania to be exact,” he said.
