Electra wows in blue gown

Carmen Electra lit up the red carpet on Wednesday evening when she stepped out for the 2013 Do Something Awards in Hollywood.
Indeed, the 41-year-old model and actress proved to be something of a head-turner thanks to her sweeping electric blue gown as she posed for photos at the annual event’s Avalon venue.
The stunning backless dress clung to Carmen’s shapely figure in all the right places, while its off-the-shoulder detail added a hint of Grecian elegance — an elegance that was further enhanced by its long flowing train.

With her hair conventionally tied back and a ponytail falling across one exposed shoulder, Carmen revealed a pair of subtle gold earrings along with one of her numerous tattoos — the single letter R behind her right ear.

The classic theme continued with her use of make-up, which was restricted to light coloured tones that ensured her dress grabbed all the attention.
The look was completed with an immaculate set of white acrylic nails and a distinctive purse with fringe detail, making her one of the more stylish stars at an event that also featured the likes of fashionistas  Kelly Osbourne and Jennifer Hudson.

Speaking to reporters, Carmen admitted she was thrilled to hear that music mogul Simon Cowell — with whom she was romantically linked earlier this year — is expecting a baby.

“What I witnessed working with him on Britain’s Got Talent and coming to see him during X Factor is that the people he truly believes in, he stands up for them and supports them,” she told E! News. “So I obviously think that his child will be very well taken care and very, very loved.’”

The former Playboy model also revealed plans to give straight-talking Cowell a call later that night.
“I’m going to call him as soon as I get in the car after the event,” she said. “I want to know if it’s a boy or a girl. It’s awesome, I’m super happy for him.”
Screened live on VH1, the Do Something Awards offer five under-25s a community grant, media coverage and general support from the Do.Soemthing.org website for their charitable endeavours, while the winner receives a US$100 000 reward.

The event also sees celebrities honoured for their charity work, with Hudson, Osbourne, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Patrick Dempsey and LL Cool J amongst this year’s recipients. — Daily Mail.
