Electrician turns armed robber

facing armed robbery charges.
They were not asked to plead when they appeared before regional magistrate Mr Clever Tsikwa who remanded them in custody to June 6 this year.
The first complainant in the matter is Petcher Liaquat.
Prosecutor Ms Tracy Mundanga alleges that on February 1 this year, Mudangwe went to Mr Liaquat’s place and fixed an electric gate at the premises.
He allegedly hatched a plan to rob the complainant and connived with his three accomplices.
On February 6 the four went to the complainant’s premises armed with some machetes and knobkerries using Mudangwe’s vehicle.
On arrival he remained outside the premises on sentry while his three accomplices scaled over the pre-cast wall into the premises.
While inside the premises, it is alleged, they broke the bedroom window and entered into the bedroom armed with the weapons.
They allegedly threatened to shoot Mr Liaquat’s and manhandled him and tied his hands.
They reportedly demanded cash before ransacking the house and got away away with US$4 000, R6 000 and three cellphones.
The complainant on the second count is Aissa Patel of Mt Pleasant. It is alleged that on  March 2, Mudangwe went to the complainant’s premises to fix an electric gate and hatched the plan to rob him.
The following day he teamed up with his gang and went to the place at around 3am armed with machetes and knobkerries using the same vehicle.
They scaled over the wall. They allegedly forced open the kitchen window to enter the house. They approached the complainant’s son and threatened to attack him before force-marching him into his mother’s bedroom.
They allegedly placed all the occupants of the house into the complainant’s bedroom and ransacked the house and stole property.
On 10 March the police arrested Mudangwe following a tip off and he implicated his accomplices.
Mudangwe reportedly led to the recovery of some cellphones hidden in the grass in Malbereign and some were recovered in Epworth.
