LOS ANGELES. —Elon Musk’s ex Ashley St. Clair, who is the mother of the billionaire’s 13th child Romulus, said she was “offered the opportunity not to speak for US$40 million” by his team but refused to sign the on Disclosure Agreement.
She also alleged that the Space X executive refers to the mothers of his 14 children as “BREEDERS.”
“When you’re offered something like that,” the 28-year-old said during a recent Venice Film Festival panel.
“It creates a debate in your head about what your speech means and how valuable that is, and why do they want to offer me this amount of money to not speak?”
By turning down the alleged offer, St. Clair, also mom to another son from a previous relationship, was able to appear on Musk, a new documentary from Alex Gibney centred around the Tesla CEO.
As she put it:
“I want to set the example for my kids that you should never take being materially comfortable over speaking the truth.”
E! News reached out to Tesla PR for comment but has not yet heard back. However, Musk, 55, slammed the documentary as a “hit piece that misses” in a post on X.
While Musk has not publicly addressed St Clair’s NDA claims, he confirmed back in 2025 that he had “given Ashley US$2.5M and am sending her US$500k/year” in child support for Romulus.
St. Clair previously said details of the NDA was broken down into a US$15 million lump sum and “US$100,000 a month for 21 years” to keep quiet on all aspects about Musk’s life.
“I was never to disparage Elon,” the former conservative influencer shared in a June episode of The Don Lemon Show.
“I was never to speak of anything—including about his employees, his affiliates. Nothing into eternity.”
But St. Clair isn’t the only one of Musk’s exes to speak out in Musk. His first wife Justine Musk—with whom he welcomed six kids during their marriage from 2000 to 2008—also appeared in the documentary, out on Oct. 16.
“I learned the term gaslighting through my relationship with Elon,” she said in the film.

Maye Musk (Mom)
Maye was born in Saskatchewan, Canada and emigrated with her parents to Pretoria, South Africa in 1950, when she was 7. She and Elon’s father, Errol Musk, split in 1979.
After Elon moved to Canada at age 17, Maye obtained Canadian citizenship by birthright. There, she established a dietician practice and became President of the Consulting Dieticians of Canada. She also worked as a model.
In 2019, after Elon sold his company Zip2 for more than US$300 million, he bought his mom an apartment in New York City, where she lived for 13 years and continued her modelling career after being signed to the IMG Models agency.
“I brought my children up like my parents brought us up when we were young: to be independent, kind, honest, considerate and polite,” Maye wrote in an essay for CNBC.
“I taught them the importance of working hard and doing good things.”

Elon’s father is an engineer and like Elon, was born in South Africa. Though Errol said in a 2015 Forbes interview that he often took his kids on trips overseas—”Their mother and I split up when they were quite young and the kids stayed with me.
“ I took them all over the world.”—his relationship with Elon isn’t picture perfect.
In an emotional 2017 Rolling Stone interview, Elon criticised his father and talked about his upbringing, saying that after his parents split, he moved in with his dad, which, he said, “was not a good idea.”
