BULAWAYO Metropolitan Cricket League Champions Emakhandeni will clash with White Rhinos at Emakhandeni Cricket Club today. Kevin Kandala is Emakhandeni’s first signing as they seek to rebuild a strong squad ahead of the new campaign.  Emakhandeni captain John Nyumbu confirmed that they would host White Rhinos today and it’s their first time to assemble as a squad in off-season.

“We will begin our preparations for the new season against White Rhinos.

“It will be our first meeting as a team as most of our players were at school,” said Nyumbu.

White Rhinos have started their preparations earlier than their opponents with friendlies against Mountaineers in Mutare and against a Bindura Select.

New signings Obert Chingwana, and Brain Mukanya will be part of the travelling squad to face Emakhandeni today.

White Rhinos team manager Chrispen Munyambo said the team was taking pre-season preparations seriously as they want to challenge for the Harare Metropolitan league crown.

“We have to start our preparations early as we want to do well in the league and qualify for the big league,” said Munyambo.
