Embracing our dominion as God’s children

“THEN God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals and over all the creatures that move along the ground’.” — Genesis 1:26

As children of God, we are created in His image and likeness.

This divine declaration signifies that we are not just mere creations, but rather, we are imbued with the very essence of our Creator.

We have been granted authority over the earth and all its inhabitants.

This dominion mandate is a profound revelation of the limitless potential that resides within each one of us as children of God.

The scriptures further exemplify this truth through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

He performed miracles, healed the sick and even walked on water.

In John 5:19, He declared: “I do what I see my father doing.”

This statement underscores the intimate connection between the Father and the Son, and it serves as a powerful reminder of our own potential to carry out the will of our heavenly Father here on earth.

Just as Jesus operated in alignment with the will of the Father, we, too, are called to walk in the same manner.

We are expected to exercise the same authority.

We were blessed from the moment of creation and entrusted with the responsibility to dominate and multiply.

This dominion is not rooted in pride or selfish ambition, but, rather, in stewardship and love for all creation.

As we embrace our dominion mandate, let us remember that we do so not by our own might but by faith and belief in the power of our Creator.

We have the potential to bring forth positive change, to impact lives and to advance the kingdom of God here on earth.

We are called to be good stewards of the earth and to exercise our authority with wisdom and love.

Let us take hold of this truth today and walk in the fullness of our identity as children of God, knowing that we can do what the Almighty can do when we align ourselves with His will and purpose.

May we live out our days with the understanding that we are called to be agents of transformation, bearing the image and likeness of our heavenly Father.

May the Holy Spirit empower us to embrace our dominion mandate with humility, grace and unwavering faith.

Talking of dominion, l am inviting you to the Dominion Summit, a morning prayer conference taking place from April 22 to 26 in Harare.

Sessions will be held between 6am and 7.30am.

Pastor Chichi Bismark and Bishop Munetsi Zowa will be preaching and teaching about our dominion mandate as children of God.

The gathering will also be used to pray for our nation’s success in various aspects.
