ZAMBIAN housemate, Sulu was evicted from Big Brother The Chase last Sunday. Just a short while after head of house Bimp confirmed the housemates’ suspicions by revealing that he had saved Cleo and replaced her with Sulu on the list of eviction nominees, the bubbly Zambian dude then learnt that his stay in the house has come to an end.
Sulu then hugged his fellow housemates and made his way to the Big Brother Live Show stage to join presenter IK and Annabel who also got evicted the same night.
The Zambian did not take his eviction personally, he was his usual bubbly self evening singing: “Ruby, Ruby, Ruby,” with to the crowd.
It has been an entertaining and sometimes tumultuous nine weeks that the young fellow has had in the Big Brother House.
There was his doomed relationship with Selly that even resulted in the Zambian being handed a strike and a stern warning by Biggie. But there were also good times and he has often been described by his fellow housemates as a funny-man and a loving guy.
This was the first time that Sulu had been up for eviction and sadly for him it was his last time too as his Big Brother journey has come to an end.
Before this, Sulu had only been nominated once by his fellow housemates but luckily for him the then head of house Feza saved him and put Pokello in his place. — DStv.
This is your Top 10 Africa
THE Chase started with 28 housemates and yesterday there were 10 and quickly became nine after Nando was disqualified for making threats against Elikem’s life.
No one would have guessed that the Chasemates left standing would be the ones holding the fort until now and who would have though that the departed chasemates would leave in that fashion?
South Africa’s Angelo, Nigeria’s Beverly, Ethiopia’s Bimp, Zambia’s Cleo, Namibia’s Dillish, Ghana’s Elikem, Tanzania’s Feza, Nigeria’s Melvin, Tanzania’s Nando and Botswana’s Oneal all form the Big Brother The Chase Top 10.
Their journey hasn’t been easy and they have lost a lot of friends and lovers along the way. The likes of Elikem and Cleo formed strong relationships in the House with their Zimbabwean lovers; Pokello and Hakeem and they had to endure the sadness of seeing them go.
Also, having another countrymate in the game gives one strength and assurance that at least their country’s flag is being flown by two housemates. However, everyone but Nando, Feza, Beverly and Melvin lost their countrymates in the game.
Cleo silently shed tear after tear as she tried internalising the reality of her brother Sulu leaving The Chase. “He taught me so much. It’s so rare to find someone like him that is not stingy with knowledge,” Cleo cried.
Sulu and Annabel became the 17th and 18th Chasemates to bid the game farewell tonight. They were nominated alongside Elikem who managed to survive the chop by the skin of his teeth.
Then there were 10. It’s time to see if they deserve to be the top 10 because the game only gets a lot tougher from here on. — DStv.
Nando disqualified
Tanzania’s Nando has been disqualified from the Big Brother House.
After Sunday night’s evictions that saw Annabel and Sulu being given the boot, Big Brother then gathered all of the housemates in the living room.
“Today (Sunday) Big Brother reproached Nando for the fight that he had with Elikem on Friday.
The heated face-off with Elikem saw the two fellas exchanging fiery words between them. Nando is the one that instigated the fight. Instigation and provocation is a violation of the Big Brother rules.
“Any housemate who becomes physically violent will be removed from the House immediately. Violence can refer to self-inflicted violence, or violence towards another.
“Violence includes provocation, goading, bullying and victimisation,” said Biggie.
This season Big Brother has imposed a three-strike rule, which will be applicable to housemates who commit serious infringements. For this fight Nando received his second strike and Elikem was served with his first strike. Afterwards the Tanzanian was called into the Diary Room. He was given his third strike for making threats against Elikem’s life, saying: “I feel like stabbing him. A nigga like that deserves to die.”
And he was also caught sleeping with scissors under his bed and this is not the first time that he has been caught with a weapon in the House. The troubled young fellow has had a dramatic nine weeks in The Chase.
Last month he was served with a strike and a stern warning from Big Brother after he was found carrying a knife to the Channel O Party. The possession of weapons or intention to be violent in the House is another violation of the Big Brother rules.
After the Diary session Nando was told to immediately exit the House. Big Brother then gave a warning to the housemates to conduct themselves as adults. — DStv.
