FORMER CAPS United and Warriors goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro has ended his hunt for a club after completing his move to South Africa Premiership side Mpumalanga Black Aces.According to the club’s website, Murambadoro signed a two-year deal on a free transfer.
The big goalkeeper had spent the last few weeks with Aces and the club’s technical team have been closely monitoring and working on his fitness before making their decision.
Dynamos goalkeeper Artwell Mukandi also tried his luck with the team last month, but it appears he was beaten to the job by his more experienced compatriot.
Aces’ co-chairman Mario Morfou confirmed the development and the signing of another Zimbabwean Tendai Ndoro, who agreed to a season’s contract last week from Chicken Inn.
Murambadoro and Ndoro will team up with fellow countryman and Aces’ captain Method Mwanjali, who joined at the start of the 2013/14 campaign.
Amaziyoni, who returned to the Absa Premiership this season, were looking for a goalkeeper to add to the duo of Calvin Marlin and Bafana Nhlapo in coach Clive Barker’s team.
The club’s co-chairman, Morfou, was excited by the prospect of having an experienced goalkeeper like Murambadoro in their set-up.
“As for Murambadoro, who has been at Aces before, he is an experienced campaigner who has played consistently in the PSL. He will add some depth to our goalkeeping department and we hope his experience will give us extra options in the last line of defence,” said Morfou.
The club was also excited with the arrival of Ndoro, who was the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League’s top goal scorer with 11 goals in 16 starts for Chicken Inn at the time of his departure.
“Tendai Ndoro is a naturally gifted player who can score a lot of goals. He left the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League as the leading goal scorer and that is just proof of what he can do on the field of play.
“We wish Ndoro everything of the best in his Aces career and hope he will score important goals for us,” said Morfou.
