A significant engagement meeting to address the pressing challenges hindering adolescents’ access to Sexual and Reproductive

Health and Rights (SRHR) services in East and Southern Africa kicks off on Wednesday at the Harare International Conference

Centre.

The engagement aims to foster collaboration among key stakeholders and develop actionable strategies to improve SRHR

service provision for young people.

It will bring together a diverse group of participants, including young people, Government representatives, parliamentarians,

representatives from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union, civil society organisations,

international partners and development partners.

The platform will serve as a crucial space for sharing experiences, learning from best practices, and formulating a unified

approach to enhancing SRHR services.

The primary goal of this meeting is to develop comprehensive recommendations for harmonising and reforming SRHR laws

and policies across the region.

Additionally, participants will work together to create a regional action plan that outlines concrete steps to improve adolescent

access to SRHR services and strengthen partnerships among stakeholders.

By addressing these critical issues, the meeting seeks to create a more supportive environment for young people in East and

Southern Africa to exercise their SRHR rights and make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.
