Theatre in the Park will screen the movie ‘See Me’ this Wednesday as part of its initiative to promote local content.
The film gives a narrative of young people living with HIV/AIDS and the effects of the Covid-19-induced lockdown.
The film delves deep into the experiences of young people and how they navigated through the restriction.
It explores struggles encountered by young people, including stigma, discrimination, mental health and gender-based violence.
In an interview, the writer Charlene Furusa expressed satisfaction over the screening of the movie and said it has had an impact
globally.
“We are excited to be screening ‘See Me’ at Theatre in the Park this Wednesday. It will be the first time it is publicly screened in
Harare,” she said.
“So far the film has been at 14 film festivals globally and we are thrilled that it is coming home.”
Furusa captures the journey through the eyes of those affected, highlighting the need to stop the stigma.
The cast features Natasha Dlamini, Teddy Mangawa, Mwenje Mathole and Charlene Furusa, among others.
