Enjoy the strawberry bubbliness of Fairy Café’s cocktails

If you are looking for somewhere fresh, spicy and fun to wet your whistle this weekend the best place to try is the Fairy Café.

Located in the heart of the City of Kings at iMbali Mall, Fairy Café does not only offer confectionery as most residents would anticipate. You can enjoy a healthy breakfast, with a fruity mocktail of your choice, savoury lunch and of course when the sun is less seething you can enjoy a cocktail of your choice.

My colleague and I visited the enterprise just yesterday and asked for their two best cocktails: The bartender Gary Khumalo, whom I have met at a different set up was behind the bar.

Me being me, I could remember the face but not the place I patronised.
Anyway after requesting their two best signature cocktails, Gary suggested we try, what got me really cracked up, a threesome. Yes, I see you with that naughty smirk.

So, he explains the Threesome: “It’s a catchy name and the drink is quite zingy. So, whenever someone comes in asking for a cocktail, we suggest the Threesome. This is what goes in: I mix three types of clear liquor.

Tequila, Gin and Vodka. I add ice into the concoction of course, some pineapple and lime juice, simple syrup, blue curacao, granadilla and orange wedges for garnishing.

After he performed his magic and let me indulge in the threesome, I would give it a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. My reasons being it’s a bit harsh, especially for those who do not like gin.

The next drink was the Fairy Fix, a prime signature to the establishment and like the name suggests it’s a fairy drink.

Pink in colour and bubbly in sight the drink has quite a sweet scent and I would suggest this for the ladies.

It’s a mix of vodka, granadilla juice, litchi syrup, grapefruit, lime juice and lemonade.
The drink is then garnished with strawberry pieces that make the appearance look fairy. This is a pink drink and I suggest it for the ladies.

Gary noted they had a wide range of cocktails that patrons could try and enjoy. The setup is quite sassy and extravagant. If you just want to enjoy a drink in a buzz, try the Fairy Café.
