THE second edition of the Men2Men Indaba, hosted by the Zimpapers Mutare unit, comprising The Manica Post and Diamond FM, lived up to expectations last Saturday as scores gathered at Madziro Leisure Centre for a day of meaningful conversations, networking, entertainment and football.
The event attracted men and women from across Manicaland who came together to discuss pressing issues affecting men in their daily lives, while also enjoying a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
Building on last year’s inaugural edition, this year’s indaba gave participants the opportunity to engage openly on topics often overlooked in society, including mental health, financial literacy, sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, relationships and overall wellbeing.
One of the speakers and self-styled prophet, Madzibaba Nzira, urged families to prioritise peace and open communication, saying strong homes are built on mutual respect and understanding.
“A peaceful home starts with honest communication. Husbands and wives must learn to talk to each other every day, not only when problems arise. When couples communicate openly, they build trust, resolve conflicts easily and raise stronger families. Men should lead with love, patience and wisdom because the strength of the family depends on unity,” he said.

Legal practitioner, Tapiwa Mafundu, encouraged men to be intentional about financial planning, warning against living for the present while neglecting the future.
“Every man must prepare for rainy days. Financial planning is not a luxury but a responsibility. Save, invest and start preparing for retirement while you are still productive. At the same time, never underestimate the value of constant communication with your wife. Decisions about finances, family and the future should be made together because a united couple is better equipped to overcome life’s challenges,” he said.
Throughout the day, attendees used the platform to mingle, exchange ideas and build networks.
The informal setting encouraged honest conversations, with participants appreciating the opportunity to interact with health practitioners, counsellors, financial experts and motivational speakers.
Other speakers and partners who delivered infomercials and exhibited services and products included Evangelist Nyasha Ruwende, Pastor Nyasha Marwenze, and representatives from St Charles Lwanga, Stella Maris, Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS), Eddy Customs Clearing and Forwarding, Damofalls Investments, Heathrown Energies and Dollar Deals trading as Hughes Auto.
Many described the event as timely, saying it created a safe space where men could share experiences and seek practical advice on challenges in their personal, family and professional lives.
Discussions remained lively, with participants engaging experts during question-and-answer sessions. Financial discipline, stress management, healthy lifestyles and responsible fatherhood emerged as key themes.
Health professionals conducted free health check-ups, while counselling services were available for those seeking professional guidance. Beyond the sessions, the Indaba maintained a vibrant atmosphere, with entertainment ensuring there was never a dull moment.
Diamond FM DJs Lampy and Chayamaningi kept the crowd entertained with an exciting mix of music that had people singing along, dancing and relaxing between discussions. Their performances added energy and complemented the programme.

The braai, refreshments and exhibition stands also proved popular as guests socialised and connected with participants from different professions and backgrounds.
A football watch party later in the day created another avenue for interaction, with supporters sharing laughs, analysing matches and strengthening friendships in a relaxed environment. Participants said the blend of serious discussions and entertainment made the event unique, allowing them to learn while unwinding.
Women who attended welcomed the inclusive approach, noting that discussions on men’s wellbeing require support from families and communities.
Businesspeople, entrepreneurs and community leaders also used the occasion to establish new partnerships and explore collaboration, reinforcing the networking aspect of the Indaba.
Organisers expressed satisfaction with the turnout and participation, saying the event had achieved its objective of encouraging open conversations on issues affecting men while promoting healthier lifestyles and stronger communities.
They said the response reflected a growing need for platforms where men can discuss challenges without stigma, while also celebrating positive masculinity and brotherhood. As the programme ended, many attendees were already looking forward to the next edition, describing this year’s Men2Men Indaba as bigger, more engaging and more impactful.
With insightful discussions, practical advice, networking opportunities, quality entertainment from DJs Lampy and Chayamaningi, and an exciting football watch party, the Men2Men Indaba again proved that important conversations can thrive in an enjoyable and welcoming environment. Saturday’s successful gathering reinforced the event’s reputation as one of Manicaland’s leading platforms for empowerment, wellness and community engagement.
