Environment Minister Ndlovu engages community

ENVIRONMENT Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu is on Wednesday in Bulilima district where he is holding the Ministers Annual Community Engagements on Environment, Forestry and Wildlife.

A briefing is underway at Bulilima District Council offices in Plumtree town before proceeding to Hungwa community in Ndolwane.

The engagement comes as the country continues to face serious challenges with human wildlife conflicts, especially in communities adjacent to protected forests and wildlife areas.

This situation, which is exacerbated by other environmental challenges, is increasingly threatening human life and people’s livelihoods.

These engagements will, among other things, gather views from communities and key stakeholders on how to address challenges in the wildlife sector, such as the issue of wildlife corridors, an increase in wildlife and human encroachment

Present at the briefing is Matebeleland South Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Dr Evelyn Ndlovu, Bulilima legislator Cde Dingumuzi Phuti who is also ICT Deputy Minister, Bulilima DDC Mr Zogara, Bulilima RDC officials, Environment Ministry officials among other stakeholders.
