The Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA) has initiated technological training campaign to map environmental activities in Zimbabwe.
The association began the initiative in Hwange yesterday and launched a programme in partnership with Forest Service under the theme “Knowledge is power”.
In a statement, ZELA said they will be training communities drawn from Umfurudzi, Chimanini, and Hwange.
“The agenda is to teach communities about how they use technologies to map the environmental activities across the country. As we begin the week, we are happy to be training communities drawn from Umfurudzi, Chimanini and Hwange on the use of emerging technologies to map environmental activities.”
ZELA’s vision is for communities and people to benefit from just, equitable and sustainable natural resources governance across the country.
It aims to promote sustainable natural resources management and the protection of marginalised communities and Zimbabwe’s environment.
