THE Minister of Local Government has approved the Epworth Local Board’s 2026 budget of ZWG357 197 187.61.
In a letter dated December 4, 2025, to the Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, seen by Zimpapers, the Epworth Local Board indicated that after consultations, it resolved to maintain its 2025 budget tariffs while complying with Cabinet directive on reviewed tariffs.
“The total budget for the financial year 2026 is ZWG357 197 187.61. In coming up with its budget, the board was primarily guided by the objectives which are contained in the National Development Strategy 2 and the Minimum Service Delivery Standards in line with the national vision 2030,” read the letter.
“It is the thinking of the council that service delivery will be met if this budget is supported by all stakeholders.”
In the same vein, Local Government and Public Works Minister Daniel Garwe, also approved the 2026 budget for the City of Gweru of ZiG2 130 262 620 in terms of Section 47 (1) of the Public Finance Management Act Chapter 22:19.
In a statement, City of Gweru town clerk Mr Livingston Churu thanked all stakeholders who participated in the budget consultations and budget formulation process.
“For our budget to fully function and be successful, we therefore call upon all residents and stakeholders to pay their bills,” read the statement.
Minister Garwe also approved the budget for Shurugwi town council of US$14 768 458.41.
