Esigodini Toddlers die in hut inferno! Mother locked door and went to shopping centre

B-Metro Reporter

IN a gut-wrenching incident that has left a community in shock, two toddlers were burnt beyond recognition after a fire tore through a locked bedroom hut in Esibomvu, Esigodini.

The victims – a 4-year-old girl and her 2-year-old brother – had been left alone in the hut after their mother reportedly locked the door from the outside and went to Esibomvu Business Centre.

While the mother was away, a fire mysteriously broke out, engulfing the hut in flames. Trapped inside with no way out, the children perished in the blaze.

By the time neighbours noticed the smoke and rushed to the scene, it was too late.

The inferno had already reduced the hut to ashes, leaving only charred remains of the young victims.

“We are investigating the cause of the fire,” confirmed the police in a statement. “It’s a heartbreaking case and inquiries are underway.”
