FORMER Warriors midfielder Esrom Nyandoro says the current crop of the Warriors are the a�?golden generationa�?.
Having qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) without hassles in some sections of society they have been nicknamed a�?Dream Team Twoa�?.
a�?The most important thing was to see my national team qualifying for the AFCON, which is a big thing. It has been long since we last qualified, I think it has been 10 years now, so you can imagine the excitement this qualification has brought,a�? he said in an interview with Soccer Laduma.A� Nyandoro believes the tournament will break new ground for players with hopes and ambitions of playing abroad.
a�?I have to say well done to the boys; they really deserved it. To play at that level is a huge achievement that will go a long way to exposing our players to greater things,a�? he said.
The retired Mzilikazi-bred footie star, who reportedly enjoys a good working relationship with Mamelodi Sundowns owner Patrice Motsepe is now into mentoring youngsters with Sundowns developmental sides.
He took part in Zimbabwea��s 2004 and 2006 AFCON appearances. He scored in a losing game against Cameroon in 2006 but the goal was voted goal of the tournament.
