FORMER Dynamos player Anesu Gondo who had been described as a�?highly rateda�? by the Swazi media this week, demanded an $8 000 signing-on fee prompting football giants Mbabane Highlanders to call off the deal.
The sign-on fee which is equivalent to 120 000 Emalangeni (R120 000) has been widelyA� viewed as exorbitant forcing the most successful Swazi soccer outfit to look elsewhere with the Zimbabwe midfielder now reportedly a Black Leopards target.
Mbabane Highlanders had lined up out of contract former Zimbabwea��s Dynamos striker Anesu Gondo ahead of the new season.
Sources had confided that the box to box player had been contacted about a possible move to join the MTN League runners-up when the new season resumes.
a�?Gondo had been contacted by a team in Swaziland and was considering the option. But he was waiting for a go-ahead to travel to Mbabane. The deal has since been called off because of the playera��s sign-on figure which Mbabane Highlanders felt was exorbitant,a�? the source said.
Mbabane Highlanders boss Bheki a�?Rubbera�� Simelane confirmed last week Friday that there was a player from Zimbabwe who was expected to join the team soon.
