FORMER Dynamos player Anesu Gondo who had been described as a?highly rateda? by the Swazi media this week, demanded an $8 000 signing-on fee prompting football giants Mbabane Highlanders to call off the deal.

The sign-on fee which is equivalent to 120 000 Emalangeni (R120 000) has been widelyA viewed as exorbitant forcing the most successful Swazi soccer outfit to look elsewhere with the Zimbabwe midfielder now reportedly a Black Leopards target.

Mbabane Highlanders had lined up out of contract former Zimbabweas Dynamos striker Anesu Gondo ahead of the new season.

Sources had confided that the box to box player had been contacted about a possible move to join the MTN League runners-up when the new season resumes.

a?Gondo had been contacted by a team in Swaziland and was considering the option. But he was waiting for a go-ahead to travel to Mbabane. The deal has since been called off because of the playeras sign-on figure which Mbabane Highlanders felt was exorbitant,a? the source said.

Mbabane Highlanders boss Bheki a?Rubbera Simelane confirmed last week Friday that there was a player from Zimbabwe who was expected to join the team soon.
