A bevy of up to 17 models battled it out at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex showcasing their beauty and personality.
However, as with all competitions not everyone emerged victorious.
It was Naomi Tsandukwa, who was crowned Miss Personality while Sandra Chanakira clinched the second princess title and Carol Mandizvidza was named the first princess.
For landing the title Euginia won herself a US$1 000 while first princess Carol received US$750 with Sandra pocketing US$500.
However, only Euginia and Carol will proceed to the Miss Zimbabwe contest.
The event, which was scheduled to kick off at 18:30. only got to start an hour later after serious power cuts which plunged the venue into darkness.
Despite the event running late and suffering a low attendance owing to the heavy rains that pounded the city, it bounced back to life as talented hip-hop artiste Shingirayi “Mau Mau” Sabeta, who was MC for night, managed to keep the crowd entertained.
Zimbabwe’s top rapper, Stunner, in the company of Tazoita Cash recording artistes Shastro and Ba Shupi levelled the vibe when he stole the show thrilling guests at the complex with a dose of his music.
Long forgotten artiste Mudiwa Mutandwa, who has often been described as a “wanna be rapper”, and “fake”, found the going tough for him as he performed before a booing crowd, which would not have any of his mediocre acts.
Dressed elegantly in white, Mudiwa with his hideous hairdo proved not to be the favoured one, contrary to his name. Chyll from the group Major Players had the ladies on their feet with a performance of his song “Higher”.
The Miss Chitungwiza beauty pageant made its comeback this year under the patronage of former models Raynadine Monson and Fatsani Gladys Kulera.
