A 34-YEAR-OLD woman from Bulawayo appeared in court facing charges of assaulting her ex-husband with an empty beer bottle.
Talent Dhliwayo appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mehluli Moyo facing one count of physical abuse.
She pleaded guilty to the charge and the matter was remanded to 24 January for sentencing.
The court heard that on 12 January 2025, at around 9pm at Figa Beer Garden in Bulawayo, a misunderstanding arose between Dhliwayo and her ex-husband, Jabulani Sithole, when she questioned him why he was following her.
It was heard that during the argument, Dhliwayo struck her ex-husband once on the forehead with an empty beer bottle.
Sithole sustained a deep cut on the forehead as a result of the assault.
The matter was reported to the police, leading to Dhliwayo’s arrest.
