A HARARE woman is living in fear of her ex-husband, who removed doors from her house and threatened to destroy all windows panes and the roof.
This emerged at the Harare Civil Court where Julieth Nyakudya applied for a protection order against her ex-husband Tawanda Munaki.
Julieth said Tawanda had made her life a living hell.
“I am living in fear of thieves because the house now has no doors.
“He left me at the house where we used to stay together and went to live with his new lover.
“He returns to abuse me, trying to force me to leave the house. He has removed all the doors and I am no longer safe with the children,” she said.
Added Juliet: “He once came with a group of people claiming to be a housing committee who asked me to vacate so that the house can be sold and we share the money.”
In response, Tawanda admitted that he removed the doors.
“I reject that I beat her up but, yes, I removed the doors and was arrested for that,” he said.
Magistrate Rutendo Machingura, who presided over the matter, granted Julieth the protection order.
Tawanda was barred from abusing her, both physically and emotionally.
