CELLPHONES are personal gadgets which have made communication easier the world over.
School children are now using these gadgets for research purposes.
Others are now making business transactions over the phone.
This alone shows how mobile phones have made life easier.
However, there are some people who abuse these gadgets by keeping and circulating unpleasant stuff.
These comprise gory pictures of the dead, battered and bruised, and toxic messages.
Pornographic material is also being kept in cellphones by sex maniacs.
The rate at which people are now addicted to pornographic material boggles the mind.
In today’s issue, we are carrying sickening story of a St Anne’s Goto Mission High School matron who riled parents after she mistakenly sent pornographic material in a WhatsApp group.
She twice sent pornographic stuff on the WhatsApp group, which is aimed at sharing issues concerning the school, and welfare of the students.
The reckless matron has become the talk of the mission school.
She has since apologised but most parents are yet to forgive her.
The parents are now convinced the matron is addicted to porn, which is regrettable.
How the videos ended up in her phone is a question for another day.
And, being a professional tasked with the biggest responsibility of looking after female learners, parents/guardians are now doubting the credibility of the matron.
Although she blamed her children for the leaked pornographic scenes, she has lost the faith and trust of both the learners and parents.
She will always be remembered as a woman who has the potential to corrupt learners. With the matter still a hot potato, lessons should be drawn from the matron’s shenanigans.
The matron is not alone in this web, likely to corrupt learners. There are also some high-profile people who also keep similar stuff in their phones.
The only challenge is that we can’t access their gadgets but many people have been doing this for years.
However, people need to be warned that keeping and circulating pornographic material is a punishable offence which can attract a heavy fine.
Honestly, it’s embarrassing being prosecuted for keeping and circulating such stuff.
It’s even horrible when young kids, in their early teens, stumble upon such material which has the potential to corrupt their minds.
As has become the norm, teens like to experiment a lot and exposing them to pornographic material is as good as initiating them into sex.
It’s high time parents and guardians lead by example by avoiding controversy.
It also becomes an issue when those tasked with nurturing our kids are exposing them to dirty stuff like pornographic material.
By doing so, we are not only destroying the future of our kids but raising a dangerous generation.
Over the years, sex was always a sacred subject and that should be the norm always.
Let’s all desist from keeping and circulating pornographic material.
