“Siliya has today appeared before a combined team of investigators, which include the Zambia Police, Anti-Corruption Commission and the Drug Enforcement Commission, over the irregularities in the awarding of a contract and the installation of the radar system at Lusaka International Airport,” Kanjela said. “She has been charged with offence of abuse of authority of office and we recorded a warn and caution statement from her.” The radar system was installed between 2008 and 2010. If found guilty, Siliya faces a jail sentence of at least five years. – AFP.
