One of Zimpapers’ longest-serving drivers Mr Lovemore Tarwirei has died. Mr Tarwirei died at his rural home in Zvimba yesterday. Zimpapers transport officer Mr Chiwanga Lobo expressed shock at Mr Tarwirei’s untimely death. “We are shocked by his death because we never got any news that he was not feeling well. “Tarwirei was a mentor to most of us in the department because we joined the organisation when he was already here,” he said.

Mr Lobo described Mr Tarwirei as a dedicated driver who loved his job. “He would volunteer to take any job available. He was such a humble man who worked hard. We are sad that he died suddenly without anyone knowing whether he was ill or not,” he said.

Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
