Previously we spoke on the exceeding blessings of God in the lives of three men — Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We saw how despite his background, God exceedingly blessed Abraham, and how he turned Isaac from fearing his enemies into being feared himself. Today we will continue and see how one’s business and financial life can be accelerated with the supernatural blessings of God as it was in the lives of Isaac and Jacob.
God never meant for you to be in dire poverty and sheer lack to the point of every day growing bitter over unpaid bills, rentals, medical bills, and not to mention tuition for all your children and dependants.
The question is, is there a way or a plan that God has set for His children financially?
You are holding the right tool at the right time, it’s an article written and meant for you.
The exceeding blessings of God are about to invade your financial life in this year!
It’s your season.
Probably as this very newspaper is in your hands or as you are browsing and reading online, your finances are terribly hit with what I have heard many call January Disease — a serious financial ailment due to overspending during the festive season.
It’s like you are in a desert and a drought of your own world. Be of good courage.
You can choose to learn God’s word, believe it, apply it and see a total turnaround in your income and productivity!
Exactly it was with Isaac in Genesis 26:1,212-14; “And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And the Lord appeared unto him and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land I shall show thee of . . . then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great and went forward, and grew until he became very great. For he had possession of flocks, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.”
Despite the severe drought, Isaac experienced the exceeding supernatural blessings of God that surprised many.
For the man waxed great during drought and grew until he became very great.
Friend, do not be intimidated by negative news all around you, God is a good God and able to turn your situation around.
He is able to send your children to school, save that collapsing business and able to clear the huge debt daily eating your joy and peace, O hallelujah!
He did it for Isaac; he can do it for you. Isaac sowed and reaped a hundredfold in the same year. O hallelujah.
It means if Isaac sowed seeds worth US$10 he got US$1 000. 2014 is a good year. Nobody will limit you. Your finances will not limit you.
You are going to say if God is on my side, who can be against me? Today I declare in your life no more limitations. What’s going to happen is supernatural. What we know is the natural but we are going to experience the supernatural grace of God.
He desires that all be well with you financially, for He “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20).
And take note when I talk of these blessings I don’t mean go and borrow, No, no, no. You will die suffering with debts.
Wait on the true blessing of the Lord.
Neither opt for a short-cut in life, goblins, juju or other perverse means of acquiring wealth. Don’t do it.
Such success has wings and will one day fly away and leave you with much sorrow and affliction; whereas the blessing of the Lord addeth no sorrow.
What then was his key and secret Isaac which you can tap into and experience God’s exceeding blessings? Obedience; is the key.
When God told him to dwell in the land, he obeyed and sowed in that very place where drought was rampant and reaped in the same year a hundred fold, O hallelujah.
Choose to obey God’s Word. Don’t go and borrow or steal and say God blessed me. No. Obey his Word and do all he tells you to do. “Whatsoever he saith unto you do it” (John 2:5).
The third man who tapped into the supernatural exceeding blessings of God is Jacob, son of Isaac.
The guy knew what greatness is before he was even born. He fought in the womb with Esau his brother.
The exceeding blessings of God are not for cowards, No. Stand on the word of God and believe him for the best no-matter what you are going through right now. God is your exceeding great reward, remember!
I remember one mission to Rwanda. We had conducted a powerful revival, about five of us, and I led the team.
We needed to come back and had no money for fuel and food right from Kigali to Harare. Friend there is a God who sees in Heaven and rewards! Don’t worry concerning what you are going through.
He is able.
On the final service as we were shaking hands and bidding farewell to the newly born and excited believers we knew we could not ask for money from them.
We chose to believe and wait on God. Sure enough he did, and in a most amazing way.
An old lady trotted through and with the help of an interpreter thanked us for coming and preaching to them.
Then holding my hand said, “Here is Coca-Cola money for the road.”
I warmly thanked the lady as we began our trip back home by faith.
After a moment I unfolded the “Coca-Cola money”. O glory! It was not just Coca-Cola money, but a fortune; enough to fuel our car from Kigali, through Tanzania, Zambia right up to Harare. It also bought us food all the way and covered lodge bookings as we travelled back home.
O hallelujah.
We see Jacob working hard for Laban, but getting no remuneration.
He also worked for 14 years in return for marriage to Rachel, Laban’s daughter.
He could not figure out any way he was going to be rewarded until God visited him in a dream.
Laban had chosen all the healthy livestock and said the feeble, weak and striped will be Jacob’s reward.
However, at the drinking point of the flock, Jacob put rods in gutters of the drinking troughs when strong flocks were drinking.
Something happened.
It led to all strong flocks conceiving spotted little ones.
In no time, Jacob grew in wealth so much such that Laban’s sons grew uncomfortable and restless.
It was supernatural and a promise God had made to exceedingly bless Abraham’s seed.
Such are the exceeding blessings of God that are about to invade your life. It’s a good year. The exceeding blessings of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, be with you in this year.
