WITH Covid-19 stifling economic activity, perseverance and belief have seen some Bulawayo investors take the bull by its horns and invest in infrastructure that should attract interest in the city’s entertainment industry as well as tourism.
With a soft spot for event management, Mpala Group have brought about a unique style whose touch of class is driven by elegance of unmatched world standards. The organisation has been in the entertainment and tourism industry since 2014.
At a function at the MECC venue along Khami road recently, where a state of the art pool stage was launched, one of the directors, Mr Valentine Mpala , emphasized the need for those that are exposed to world standards in the diaspora to bring new ideas home and help develop the country.
He encouraged business people in the tourism and entertainment industry to help put Bulawayo on the map as it was a get way to various attractions in the country, most notably the Victoria Falls and Matopos game reserve.
“The eye catching pool was designed by a local architect Bekezela Mabuza which is another vote of confidence in the amazing ability of Zimbabweans when given opportunities.
Because the MECC centre aspires for the best, no wonder we even enlist the fulltime services of a five star chef all to deliver a service second to none.
The pool has a stage for performing artists but can also host wedding parties with an amazing combination of lights that create desired illusions especially at night.
And when the moment to say I do arrives water keys pop up in amazing splendor that usually appears only in imagination.
A first for Bulawayo, a must see for the out going, the sparkling phenomenon is our expression for customer perception and an exercise to occupy that space where beauty and art of differentiation are appreciated.
With water fountains in the midst of concrete platforms and water nozzles spraying more showers on either side of the stage this is the invention that our entertainment industry has long yearned for,” said Mr Mpala.
