Experience is the best teacher, says gospel artist

GOSPEL musician, Exaviour Marungisa, says experience has been the best teacher for him when it comes to composition of songs.

The 28-year-old was speaking ahead of the release of his forthcoming album titled Call Unto Me/Danai Kwandiri.

The seven-track album, his fourth, is set for release this coming winter.

“I have been recording music professionally for four years now and with each recording I have become better.

“My writing, singing and knowledge of music has become better thanks to the experience I have gained over the years.

“Great producers and artists that I have worked with have also helped a lot in me being a better artist today.

“It’s unlike in the first days when I was even struggling to write a song and still nervous to get into the recording booth.

“My journey still has a long way to go but I am grateful to be at the stage where I am today.”

He revealed the album features Obert Chari on one of the songs titled Mhepo Dzikama.

“Basically, the album urges people to call unto God all the time.

“It was inspired by the Bible scripture of Jeremiah 33 verse 3 which says, ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

“It’s a spiritually uplifting song.”

Marungisa has released three albums to date namely Ramba Nhamo, Ndichava Iye Wandichava and In Gethsemane.
