THE Extra Large duo of Jimmy Mangezi and Norman Manwere have promised their fans a banger of an album titled Abnormal Load, set to be released tomorrow.
The 10-track album, co-produced by Oskid, Rodney Beats, Doctore from Burkina Faso, DJ Tamuka, Levels and Professor Lalo, will feature several artists, including Jah Prayzah, Roki and Maskiri.
In an interview with H-Metro, Norman said he expects the album to get them back into the limelight.
“We are expecting this album to take us back to the good old days where we were a household name.
“We want to show people that Extra Large is here to stay. Inspiration, as always, is from our day-to-day lives. Most of our music, or songs, are social commentary.
“We are expecting the album to make waves and hopefully be mentioned when people talk about albums of the year.”
Norman said there are some songs which could shake the domestic scene.
“Tracks to look forward to include Maonde, featuring Djozi, from Burkina Faso.
“A song titled Blue Tick, featuring Sanii Makhalima, is one of the tracks to watch out for.
“Another song to look forward to on the album is called Mavato.
“There is also a JP collaboration on the album,” he said.
The tracks on the album are Maonde, Makandidzidzisa Ku Cheater, Cake, Maskodobo, Blue Tick, Varikumaenga, Chihwiriri, Budget, Mavato and Yolo.
Extra Large has 15 albums to date and several popular songs.
Uri Roja is the track that got them into the limelight at the turn of the millennium.
They went on to record other good songs, when they formed the group called the Expendables, which had artists like Roki and ExQ.
