Fabregas non-transferable: Barca

Barcelona vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu has told Sport that Cesc Fabregas is not for sale and will not be leaving the Camp Nou this summer.
Following Paul Scholes’ retirement and after losing out on Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich, Manchester United manager David Moyes is keen to bolster his midfield and has highlighted Fabregas as his primary target. United are trying to negotiate a deal for the Spain international, while a number of other clubs are also believed to be interested in the midfielder.

Moyes has said he is hopeful of hearing news regarding the club’s pursuit of Fabregas “in the next day or so”, however, it seems Barca have no intention of allowing their player to depart.

“We can assure you that we won’t listen to any offers for Cesc. It is not an option. Cesc is non-transferable,” Bartomeu said.

The vice president’s words follow on from those of coach Tito Vilanova, who claimed Fabregas wants to stay at the Camp Nou earlier this week. — ESPN.
