WE all desire to be successful in life. Admitted the magnitude of the desire and/or dream to be successful in life vary from person to person. Some people work so hard to gain success mainly so as they are not naturally endowed with best brains. Rarely some effortlessly gain success especially as they do not need to burn the night candle to get A grades.
Other people learn a lot from their mistakes to the extent that their next attempt give them the assurance they need to move on towards a successful life. Essentially always dust yourself up and journey on with exuberance!
Parents, guardians and the community are a critical part of any child’s early life. As a child what lessons did you learn from parents and the community you grew up in? Did they help you become self-made to the extent of working your way up? Or you were taught to play sentinel for those who had purpose in life?
It’s about the advice you get and your commitment to take it sincerely
As a parent or guardian, it is critical to always ask yourself the following questions: What do I say to my child? Am I being a good model? Am I exemplary? Bill Gates once said, “We were young, but we had good advice and good ideas and lots of enthusiasm”.
This statement exemplifies how important it is for a child to have good advice in life. But much more how important it is for the child to have good ideas and lots of enthusiasm in life. Reality is we are born on this earth for a purpose.
Every person is assumed reasonable until she or he disputes so through action, words and conduct. Therefore, we need to know what we love and do what we love. We need to know what you are good at and choose a career based on what energises you.
That way you work to future-proof yourself and avoid becoming irrelevant.
It’s about your skills and competencies.
The modern human being is referred to as homo sapiens and were distinguished from other animals because of their ability to think critically and to develop complex language. Characteristically the human being has been exposed to volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous living environments.
The ability to survive and/or respond to these vagaries has been determined by one’s abilities to adapt through learning new knowledge. Those who do not succumb as they become susceptible to fear and cowardice. Fear causes panic.
Enrolling with a reputable college allows you to engage in a dialogue, through the subjects you study and lessons you attend, with the lecturers and teachers so that you understand the keys issues of modern-day business, economics, accounting etc matters.
Another reality is that technology has become an accelerator. Interestingly technology has allowed you to work at your own pace, in your own environment outside the classroom. As Trust Academy we have infused technology in the process of learning.
Student access the teacher and content from everywhere. It is no longer about how technology enhances learning but using technology in education to enhance learning. Admitted as people we were so much accustomed to the in-person learning approach hence would fight worthless battles to remain in yesterday than flow with the irresistible tide.
Accept it the world has increasingly become competitive hence it is now very important for all people desirous to make a grade in life to become ICT savvy.
It’s not the economy but your passion and attributes.
By registering for a globally recognised qualification you become able to acquire practical knowledge over and above theory. That way you become socially connected thereby become able to be relevant to emerging trends including modern working environments.
What advice are you giving to your child? What support are you affording your child? What future do you want your child to have? Are you allowing your child to witness achievement through you? Higher education has gone two gears up hence students cannot be exposed to learning theory alone as they need to develop minds that are innovative so that they become creators of value through new products and services.
They become able to produce protypes that should provide solutions to current problems at local and global scale.
If you focus your attention on the economy as a person you limit your thinking. You become despondent and resign to fate.
It’s about your mindset and worldview.
Is the glass half-empty or half-full? What comes first chicken and egg? Why put the cart before the horse? Why are you failing to distinguish woods from forest or vice versa? The Covid-19 pandemic is defined by many as the worst experience faced by humankind, but others saw opportunities in it.
Successful people are most willing to risk failure. They sleep less. They do not make meaningless sounds as they experience negative success. Get this given they are normal human beings they do not like failure as well. Their only difference is that they do not take failure indifferently. Why? Because they know for a fact that a fear of failure breeds ineptitude and inaction. As such they work out a plan to avoid failure next time.
Instead of fearing failure embrace it with a positive attitude to work hard but smarter next time. Do not be mislead but remember the grass is always green around the sewage. As such avoid low lying fruits rather craft a plan to get to your desired end-result state. Even if you failed your O levels figure out how you can still become an accountant, a transport or project manager, a software engineer, a hotel receptionist etc. Be tenacious. You must develop the mindset of a champion.
Usain Bolt said, “ I have worked hard over the years, I have been injured and I have worked hard through it and I have made it.”
Herein is the trick to becoming the best you want to be in life with or without O levels.
