VIVA Zimbabwe!
Two Falcon College pupils lifted the countryas flag high, literally, when they hoisted the national symbol at the peak of the Andes mountain range, 6 962 metres above sea level.
The duo of Joshua (17) and Stephen Freeth (16) overcame brutal weather conditions to get to the top and raised the schoolas and the Zimbabwean flags at the top of the Andes mountain range.
The Andes in Argentina is the highest mountain range outside Asia where the Himalaya is located, with a 0,4 percent chance of getting to the peak.
Falcon College celebrated the pupilsa milestone with a series of pictures and congratulatory messages on its website.
a?It was hard and it was cold and at times it was brutal a but they all made it to the top. They were accompanied by their father Ben Freeth and his friend James.a?
a?The chances were at 0,4 percent probability of all of them getting to the summit when looking at previous expedition statistics and thatas not taking into account that they did not use guides and that it is almost unheard of for children to climb the mountain.
a?They proudly raised both the Zimbabwe flag with the cross above it and the Falcon College flag,a? wrote the Esigodini-based school.
Falcon College is a private boarding school in Esigodini in Matabeleland South Province. .
