A THRILLING schoolboys’ rugby game is on the cards today when the Falcon College Mad Dogs clash against Peterhouse Kings in Marondera. A huge crowd is expected to watch the match between the two biggest crowd pullers of schoolboy rugby.
Falcon College remain unbeaten this season and would want to complete a double over their Marondera rivals having overrun Peterhouse in Esigodini in the reverse game.
Brandon French, the Mad Dogs’ head coach, said the season has been good for his boys.
“We always prepare thoroughly to be certain we put up a good fight. We never undermine our opponents since nothing is predictable in rugby. We’re out to end this season unbeaten, but we also know that anything is possible in this game,” said French.
He revealed that the Mad Dogs would be welcoming back their players, who were part of the Young Sables’ team at the just-ended Craven Week in South Africa.
Young Sables captain Brian Mutanga and Falcon College captain Connor Pritchard will be back to bolster the Mad Dogs’ quest to end the season unbeaten.
Peterhouse Kings head coach David Kirkman said they won’t be out to halt the Mad Dogs’ winning streak, but would be playing to enjoy the game.
Peterhouse Kings will also have Martin Mangongo, Tinotenda Vheriwa and Zeederberg Cuan back from the Craven Week to strengthen their side.
