Falconets land for return match

The Falconets carry a healthy lead, following their 3-0 win at home two weeks ago.
And the West Africans look on course to wrap up the series and advance to the last qualifying round where the winner will get one of two African tickets on offer for the world showcase to be hosted in Japan this August.
However, the visitors chose to be diplomatic and downplayed their victory in Abeoukuta with coach Edwin Okon referring all the questions to the Nigeria Football Federation head of technical, Emmanuel Ikpeme, who said Sunday was a fresh game.
“It’s football, you can never say it’s over until its over. We are just going to play our match as it is the first one and do our best. We are playing World Cup qualifiers and expect the best African team to qualify,” said Ikpeme.
The official said the Young Mighty Warriors can also use home-ground to their advantage and overturn the first leg result.
“If we were able to defeat Zimbabwe 3-0 in Nigeria what stops them from doing the same here. We are not looking down upon them. They played a good tactical game in the first leg,” said Ikpeme.
Nigeria lost 0-2 to hosts Germany in the 2010 edition of the tournament and the Nigerians believe they can lift the tournament this year.
The Nigerians are looking for an improved performance, especially in terms of their finishing, after they missed a glut of chances at the MKO Abiola Stadium.
However, the hosts said they are ready to battle all the way.
Zimbabwe have been preparing the match since last week and the players did not even break camp for the Easter holidays.
The team has been boosted by the return of striker Rufaro Machingura who missed two matches after she was sent off at Rufaro in the first round, first leg tie against Mozambique.
The Young Mighty Warriors went on to beat neighbours 7-0 on aggregate but found the going tough against the West African team which has featured in every World Cup finals since the inception of the bi-annual tournament seven years ago.
Nigeria and Ghana represented Africa in the last edition of the tourney and both teams, which were seeded, are again are on course for another World Cup berth as Ghana beat South Africa 2-0 in Johannesburg a fortnight ago and are tipped to wrap the series in Accra.
