False start to DJ Fantan trial

THE trial of popular wheel-spinner, Dj Fantan, failed to get underway yesterday at the Mbare Magistrates’ Court with indications the parties might find each other.

Dj Fantan is facing malicious damage to property charges for allegedly destroying his wife, Gamuchirai Nemukuyu’s kitchen utensils, worth US$250.

Magistrate Rangarirai Gakanje, who is presiding over the matter, said she was overwhelmed with other matters and could only entertain the two tomorrow.

However, DJ Fantan’s lawyer indicated he would be applying not to proceed to trial since the parties were contemplating to settle their dispute out of court.

DJ Fantan drove off in his Toyota Mark X.

Zebediah Bofu appeared for the State.
